Please note that this FAQ is for Bookings received using the indie Booking Widget. Bookings received via indietravel.co /Shopify app/Integrations have separate payment terms.
Contracting with Guests
When you accept a booking request or receive a booking confirmation through the indie booking widget, you enter into a contract directly with the Guest. You are responsible for delivering the Tour or Activity under the terms and at the price specified. You also agree to pay applicable fees like indie’s commission fee (and applicable taxes) for each booking. indie via Bank Transfer will deduct amounts you owe from your payout unless you and we agree to a different method.
1. Payment to indie when using your own Stripe or Coinbase account within the widget:
When does indie invoice me for commission for bookings received using my own Stripe or Coinbase Account?
No manual commission payment is required as indie deducts the 2% commission payable at the time of booking along with the transaction fee.
Does it cost me anything to use the indie booking widget?
No. Using the indie booking widget is 100% free. However, once you receive a booking, indie takes a 2% commission - this does not include the payment processing fees which are charged to you via Stripe or Coinbase.
2. Payment when using indie Pay:
When do hosts get paid?
You'll get paid every 14 days for bookings that are completed, minus commission.
Does it cost me anything to use the indie booking widget?
No. Using the indie booking widget is 100% free. However, once you receive a booking, indie takes a 5% commission - which includes the payment processing fees - and sends the rest every 14 days.
When should I invoice indie travel for my tour?
No invoice is required. As long as you've shared your banking details with the indie team we will automatically payout every 14 days for all tours completed.
How do I share my banking details with indie?
In your Supplier Dashboard > Profile > Payout Details
When will I receive my payment?
indie makes payments every 14 days for all tours that were completed in the past 14 days.
How will I receive my payment?
indie will make payment via Bank Transfer we will deduct applicable fees like indie’s commission fee (and applicable taxes) from your payout unless you and we agree to a different method.
Do I have to pay a currency conversion fee?
indie will make payment in the currency that your tours are loaded in the indie dashboard. ie. if your tours are loaded in EUR (example below) and you want to be paid in EUR then indie will payout with no conversion fee.
If you require payment in a currency other than that loaded in the dashboard, then you will incur a conversion fee. ie if your tours are loaded in EUR and you want to be paid in USD then indie will payout minus the applicable conversion fees.
